Phonemics are part of an effort to defeat tech obsolescence through turning discarded technologies into newly-imagined gadgets.

They are balanced, XLR-out, studio and stage-ready microphones made from 1990’s payphone receivers. Each Phonemic contains a (new old stock) vintage carbon element telephone receiver and an original printed circuit board. Current models (pictured here) are encased in a powder-coated 125B diecast aluminum enclosure and topped with a payphone receiver cap.
